Fujifilm has announced the integration of its XMF workflow with Shuttleworth's management information system.
Bi-directional dataflow between XMF and Shuttleworth is said to provide a particularly high level of efficiency, with job estimates created through the MIS being sent directly to XMF, where the job is automatically generated, imposed and processed. XMF returns final job costs to Shuttleworth, which ensures the original estimate is updated to reflect actual production costs.
Fujifilm workflow solutions manager Andy Walker said that integration with the Shuttleworth MIS had been 'straightforward' due to the fact that XMF was built from scratch around the JDF/JMF protocols. "The architecture of XMF has enabled the integration with the Shuttleworth MIS to be the purest JDF integration available today," he said.
