Shuttleworth introduce a revolutionary way of accessing your key business information

The last couple of years have seen the development of the so called ‘digital dashboards’. This has seen systems develop a summary of the key business information generated from the MIS and displayed as a ‘dashboard’.

Shuttleworth have taken this a significant step forward. By using the very latest technology available Shuttleworth have developed the capability of accessing key business information real time from wherever you are in the world via the internet.

This new type of ‘digital dashboard’ has been build completely independent of the Shuttleworth application. Users do not need to be logged into the Shuttleworth System to access key business information. All you need is access to your network via the internet.

The software has been designed so that it can be available as a ‘gadget’ in a Vista Sidebar, in a browser or its own application. What this means to the user is through their sidebar they can be kept up to date with the day to day activity in the business. Individual users are able to design what type of output tools they would like to use whether its graphs, dials, histograms etc. the user is also able to specify parameters around the data so that they are alerted when certain parameters are reached.

What does this practically mean? For example if a press speed falls below a level the user has specified as unacceptable the data will change colour for example or a warning message arrives or a sound can be created through the users desktop. This is bringing real time management in formation to the users desktop and enables the user to be far more proactive in their decision making.

The potential for this method of delivering management Information is enormous as we make more and more of the management information in the system available though this method.

The new software was given its ‘first outing’ at DRUPA and the response from users and prospects was amazing. We even had a senior guy from Heidelberg comment that this was the best use of JMF data they had seen anywhere in the world.

We were the only company in the whole of DRUPA that were able to demonstrate real time data through a Vista Sidebar.
